Hailed by Pierre Restany, honorary juror of the Prix di Tella de Buenos Aires in 1964, Saül Yurkievich was the first author to recognize César Paternosto as the painter of "geometric figuration", as his eponymous article for the newspaper de la Plata, Argentina, demonstrated the same year.
