Exceptional table fountain in the Etruscan style, designed to keep the water of tea hot, from the end of the Louis XVI period, made of hard paste taking the form of an urn resting on four lion claws mounted on wheels. Grey painted decoration of two vignettes taken from Ovid's Metamorphoses after Charles Eisen (1720-1778) and appearing on the front "The Nymphs discovering Callisto's pregnancy to Diana" and on the back "A fight between the Centaurs and the Lapiths". Handles, tap and lid in bronze gilded with mercury. Internal metal mantel. Height : 70 cm. Perfect state of preservation. No accident. Provenance : Collection of Baron and Baroness François Duesberg, illustrated on pages 76 and 77 in François Duesberg - Decorative Arts 1775-1825.
