knight's plate in imitation of the cannetille plates.
Silver and vermeil star, articulated in several parts and covered with plates imitating rows of cannetilles, riveted (two missing at 2 o'clock). The main spokes are decorated at the ends with rings to sew the plate to the garment.
The central gold cross is edged with a red enamel fillet (a lustre at one corner), with engraved centres with diamond decoration and flames between the silver branches. The central cross bears the gold legend "FEDE REGE ET LEGE". The first word of the legend "PRO" was formerly replaced by a punched gold crown decorated with Rhine stones.
