Large and fairly thin TABRIZ (North West Iran), mid 20th century
An oblong, cruciform marine field, with accolades, "a thousand" flowers and multicoloured floral compositions, supports a large polylobate purple vegetalized medallion, enriched with weeping willows and a pistachio cruciform heart. Four large ivory-floral spandrels highlight the ensemble in a highly contrasting manner. Two pistachio counter-edges with stylized garlands frame the main ruby with double undulating polychrome floral garlands. Serrated highlighting and navy braid.
