Important MECHKINA (Iran), mid-20th century A chestnut field, covered with a seedling of multicoloured flowers, placed on a trellis of stems, forming cruciform compositions, welcomes in the centre a marine medallion, decorated with stylised ramage and its arrowed pendants. Four serrated spandrels, marine, embellish the whole. Two navy counter-edges with flowers, highlighted with rows of pearls, frame the main sky-blue one with a succession of corollas on flowered stems. 355 x 246cm Technical characteristics: Wool velvet on cotton foundations Good general condition
