SAROUK (Persia), late 19th century
A magnificent stylized polylobed, ruby, chestnut, bluish, gold and pink flower sits enthroned in the middle of a seedling of vegetalized botehs, set on a hexagonal ivory field. It is itself lying on a ruby field also covered with botehs. The main marine border, following multicoloured corollas, is flanked by ivory counter-borders with garlands of flowers. Nice curiosity.
