GENDGÉ (North Caucasus-Artsakh), late 19th century
A multicoloured field with flower seedlings hosts three diamond medallions with Kotchaks highlighted, composed by an interlacing of bluish broken lines with flowering stems and hooks. They have pistachio, parma and purple edges that enclose a vegetalized anthracite center supporting a square box with open corollas. Two small spandrels hooked sky and ruby completes the decoration. Two anthracite counter-edges with polychrome "S" lines surround the main ivory border, known as "Kufic", with floral boxes linked by "ironwork" pieces. Archaic style.
