Seated woman Culture Jalisco, Western Mexico Protoclastic, 100 BC - 250 AD. Dark brown slip ceramic with traces of paint ornamental black H. 49 cm - W. 26 cm Naked woman wearing a garment covering her waist. Bare torso with shoulder ornaments forming small decorative cups. Both arms are missing. Classical head with a skull ritually deformed upwards. Face emphasised by a long, narrow, bushy nose framed by small open eyes; on the sides, imposing ear ornaments. Numerous fractures. Provenance : Michel Andrault Collection (1926-2020)
