Zoomorphic vase Guanacaste culture, Nicoya region, Nicaragua/Costa Rica border End of Period IV, 200-500 AD. H. Hegira 20.5 cm Ceramic with light beige and dark brown slip. Dog trained on its four legs, the head projected forward. At the back and on the back of the animal, small circular neck with a flattened rim extending into an arched handle and a truncated cone. Visibly broken Provenance: Old French collection whose ancestors lived in Nicaragua at the beginning of the 20th century.
