Signed autograph music manuscript, 3 Sketches for Piano [K 58a], 1932; 11 pages in fol. in booklet, red titled folder. Three unpublished pieces for piano, two of which were later arranged for wind band. These three Sketches include: I. Parade, marked Moderate, but well cadenced; II. Evening, marked Slow; III. Pursuit, marked Lively. They were created at the Société Nationale, Salle Chopin (Pleyel), on February 25, 1933, by the pianist Monique Haas. The manuscript is neatly neatly outlined in black ink on 12-line paper. It is signed at the end of the initials and dated: "Paris, June 32"; it bears the SACEM registration stamps on July 18, 1932. The first two pieces bear numerous indications of orchestration in pencil. The first two pieces were transcribed for wind band in 1935-1936, and published in this version by Éditions Sociales Internationales in 1937 under the title Soir et Défilé. See Lucie Kayas, André Jolivet, Fayard, 2005, pp. 235-236. Enclosed is the signed autograph manuscript of a new version of Défilé (3 p. in ink), with annotations for orchestration in pencil; plus the pencil sketch of the beginning of an orchestration of Défilé pour petit orchestre (title and 2 p.).
