AVENTINUS (John). Annalium Boiorum libri VII [followed by] GUILLIMAN (Br.). De Helvetia, seu rebus helvetiorum tractatus...
Lipsiae, Joannis Fr. Braun, 1710.
In-folio of [38]-800-[48]-[4]-203-[16]-1bl. pages, granite calf, decorated spine (contemporary binding).
Last and best early edition of these Annals of Bavaria, composed by Aventinus for his pupils. Gauding, who gave this edition, added Gulliman's Thesaurus on Sussia, which was published in 1598. The small woodcuts, printed on 4 pages, show how numbers from 1 to 1,000,000 can be represented by means of gestures. Inherent yellowing of the German papers of that time. 3 sheets of the first index are missing.
