This is the profile of an antique bust discovered in Capua at the beginning of the 17th century which is now in the collections of the National Archaeological Museum of Naples. The identification of the figure depicted was the subject of much discussion. The bust of the Carthaginian warrior leader Hannibal Barka, who shook Rome during the Second Punic War, is now widely recognized.
