ARTAUD (F.). DESCRIPTION OF A MOSAIC REPRESENTING CIRCUS GAMES,
discovered in Lyon on 18 February 1806. LYON, BALLANCHE, 1806. A volume, large folio, paperback, of (4) ff. 20 pp., cover decorated and printed. Cover rather used with cuts, tears and small lacks.
A very nice color plate representing these circus games.
Only the Artaud board represents the mosaic as it was found, without renovation.
Although it admits some interpretations, this first board presents the mosaic as it was in 1806. Rare.
