Warrant from Charles VII to the "receveur du pais de Xaintonge ville & gouvernement de La Rochelle" for "the payment of the war people lodged in this country for this present year". The details of the sums to be distributed follow: to Jehan Bureau "treasurer of France one of the commissioners by us order [] for his wages and salaries to have been audict pais de Xaintonge leaving the city of Montargis for the fact dicellui impost and to do so to have vacated and remained in this country for some time & grans fraiz et despens, the sum of two hundred pounds tournoys []". With details of the expenses of the people who accompanied him, "esleuz", clerk, clerk's pupils, clerk, notary and secretary. For "Jehan de Bar one of our generaulx for several suites and pleasures by him made to the country", "to maistre Estienne Gillier our prosecutor audict pais for having assisted with theicts commissioners esleuz to make the imposts dictates", "to Alexandre Bodin and Fremmet Deshostelz noz sergeants for having carried at their expense by all the parishes of the said country the said commissions for imposts", the sum of 230 Tournament Pounds "which the people of the three estaz of the said country of Xaintonge gave him as he was remitted to us for two journeys by him from the said country of Xaintonge to us for the affairs dicellui pais []", etc., etc.
