Aubusson Tapestry in wool and silk, end of the 19th century Under a Gothic style arcature, in a wooded setting, where two castles can be seen, we meet two young men from the aristocracy of the Renaissance period. At the foot of a fountain dominated by an armed and winged angel, a noble assembly of ladies' companions, pages and counsellors, dressed in their most beautiful finery, witnesses a gallant rendezvous, certainly pre-nuptial. Note the flowerbed in the style of a thousand flowers. Very beautiful polychromy and very poetic subject. Height: 172; Width: 237cm
