Tapestry of Lille in wool and silk, end of the 16th, beginning of the 17th century In a luxuriant flowery undergrowth, on the edge of a deep forest, at the foot of a secular oak, with twisted double trunks, to which a hunting horn is hung, we witness the "rest of Diane the Huntress". Elegantly dressed, in the fashion of the great century, she is sitting, surrounded by two assistants, one presenting her with the remains of a hare, while the other has relieved her of her bow and quiver. Two hunting dogs seem to be guarding the trophy of a doe. Braided border. Height: 225; Width: 190cm
