Aubusson Tapestry in wool and silk, 18th century
"The bridal procession of Gombault and Mace."
Two themes in this tapestry: the 1st shot of the series of the Loves of Gombault and Macee (pastoral theme in Brittany) and a hunting scene with wild boar in 2nd Theme.
In a green undergrowth, embellished by a lake, a group of four cheerfullurons move from their village to the city to the sound of the fife. While sheep graze peacefully, the troop crosses the path of a horseman on his horse and his dog chasing the boar. Figurative frame decorated with a braid of polychrome flowers. Signed M.R.
