Koji Kasatani was born in 1964 in Tokyo and studied at the Academy of Art in Florence, Italy. The whimsical sculptor lives in a city of surfers at 1h30 from Tokyo and works mainly with ceramics. Exhibited in prestigious galleries in Tokyo and Taiwan, he focuses his work on his obsession, the banana, which he represents as a human being, doing different activities of everyday life.
