In-18, green mar., gilt roulette in frame with fleur-de-lys, gilt coat of arms in the center, smooth spine decorated mute, gilt tr. (Rel. ep.). To the arms of Charles X, joined to Navarre. Charles-Philippe de France (1757-1836), grandson of Louis XV, Count of Artois, emigrated from 1789 to 1814; he became leader of the ultra-royalist party and succeeded Louis XVIII in 1824 under the name of Charles X, but abdicated in 1830 and took refuge in England. "Charles X possessed a considerable library, part of which, consisting mainly of plays, is now in the National Library; before ascending to the throne, he had already bought the famous library of the Marquis de Paulmy, who later entered the Arsenal in its entirety".
