CITROEN XM Brand : CITROEN Model: XM Date of release: 1990 Mileage on the odometer: 100000 km The model Citroën had struck a blow with the DS in 1955, positioning its top-of-the-range car on a step that was difficult for the competition to reach. 20 years later, the CX has the difficult task of taking over. It still proves to be modern but less flamboyant. -It is in May 1989 that its replacement was unveiled. The XM was to be the flagship of the brand, a true Citroën despite the tutelage of Peugeot which imposed common elements with its 605. -The style of the XM is original, to say the least, and its technological innovations are also present with the hydractive, an elaborate version of the hydropneumatic suspension dear to Citroën coupled with an electronic management system. -On the line side, Bertone's proposal was selected. The style of the BX is also found, pushed to the extreme. With its very slim front lights, high rear, bodywork detachment at door level and 12 windows. -On the engine side, the XM was a logical fit for Peugeot. First of all, there was a 115- and 130-hp 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine and a 3.0-litre V6 that delivers 170 horsepower, including a 24-valve version, then 200 horsepower. The diesel lineup isn't forgotten with the 83-hp 2.1-litre and 110-hp Turbo D12. -The car was positioned higher up the range than the CX, and was more expensive, notably because of its more advanced hydractive suspension. The -The car we offer for sale is a 1990 XM V6. -It is therefore a phase 1, which benefits from the automatic gearbox and a number of options such as the leather interior.
