Very beautiful panel of tapestry cut out of Brussels, from the Renaissance period, from the middle of the 16th century, belonging to a series of tapestry hangings having for register "The history of Trajan". The panel presented here relates the battle of Adamclisi where the Emperor Domitian was defeated by the Daces in the year 86. In the centre is the king Dace Decébale with his standard a golden dragon on a red background. Silk, gold threads and fine wools Height: 245 cm, Width: 140 cm. Some oxidation and natural wear, beautiful polychromy.
