Alain Saint-Ogan (1895/1974) is a French comic book author and illustrator known for having created the humorous series Zig et Puce in 1925. He is the first author to break with the archaic system of comics by using the processes of American comics such as the sequentiality of images, the recurrence of characters from one sequence to another and especially the systematic use of phylactery. He was one of the main inspirers of Hergé, creator of Tintin.
