Large and fine Tabriz (Iran) circa 1980 in wool and silk Work in the great tradition of the Shah's imperial workshops. Lambskin velvet in high-quality silk wool, silk-encrusted flowers on cotton foundations, silk endings. Beige field with scrolls of garlands of flowers and stylised foliage in pastel shades decorated with a large central medallion with an old gold and turquoise floral crown framed by two flowered palmettes formed by stylised oil lamps. Four spandrels reminiscent of the central medallion. Large salmon-pink border with seeded reserves with flowered crowns in pastel shades. Density. Approx. 10000 knots per dm2 Good general condition 300 x 200 cm
