PLATE rectangular slightly domed enamelled in colour. Rectangular plate The religious subject is inscribed in an oval encircled in white on the rectangular plate whose corners are decorated with enamelled foliage in colour. At the base, in a scroll, ".S. IOANNA.". The crouched, crowned saint, dressed in an ermine cloak, extends her arms towards a cloud in which the child Jesus holding a basket, at his feet a scepter. It is probably Jeanne of France or Valois (Nogent, 1464 - Bourges, 1505), Queen of France, daughter of Louis XI. The Queen, having retired, founded a contemplative order . It is a portrait of great quality and great finesse in spite of a technique which is similar to enamel painting. On the reverse, inscription in gold letters "Laudin aux faubourgs de Magnigne à Limoges I.I" Limoges, Jacques II Laudin, (son of Nicolas I, 1663-1729).
