Bertrand Carrière (Canadian, born in 1957) has woven a photographic work that is both personal and varied. His research develops first of all in a documentary way where he is interested in memory and the history of places. He then adopts a more intimate approach, characterized by an openness of the gaze to the irregularities of the visible. His works can be found in several major collections, including the National Gallery of Canada, the Musée national des Beaux-Arts du Québec, the Houston Museum of Fine Arts and the Bibliothèque nationale de France.
The print, "La Robe" is the first image of his major series "Signes de jour", it appears in the Photo Pocket "Agence VU' Galerie" (Actes-Sud, 2006).
