Alessandro Albert (Italian, born 1965) and Paolo Verzone (Italian, born 1967) met in the 1980s and together they produced large-scale projects such as the "Moscow Project" and "Seeuropeans" (World Press Photo 2001 and Kodak Prize for Photography 1992), from which this photograph is taken. This famous series creates a large gallery of portraits of Europeans on the beach, highlighting the multiplicity, individuality and singularities of each person, depending on the country in which they live.
