In-8, red morocco, large straight lace decorated with alternating flowers and pomegranate flowers, fleurons at the corners, coat of arms in the center, decorated spine, roulette on the cups, inside lace, Augsburg paper endpapers, gilt edges (contemporary binding). Copy with the arms of the Duke of Penthièvre.
Only son of the Count of Toulouse and grandson of Louis XIV, Louis de Bourbon-Penthièvre (1725-1793) was admiral of France, governor and lieutenant general of Brittany, but also a great veneur of France.
