Letter from a caffé boy to the prompter of the Rouën comedy, on the play of the Three Shows. - Answer of the prompter... - Second letter from the prompter... or interviews on the defects of the declamation. Paris, Tabarie, 1729-1730. 3 pieces in one volume in-12, grey percaline bradel, red slices (Petitot). Original editions of these three very rare libels, published by the author of Les Trois spectacles. There is an interesting critical review of the staff of the Comédie-Française in 1730. Some handwritten annotations in the Seconde lettre, including one about the actress Adrienne Lecouvreur (p. 37). A second copy of the Response and one of the Second Letter are enclosed, bound separately: same edition, same binding, same provenance. Washed copies. From the library Jules Couët (1938, VIII, n°4286), librarian-archivist of the Comédie-Française, with ex-libris.
