Original and big SOUMAK (Caucasus),End 19° Beginning 20°. Technical characteristics. Needle and crochet work in flat stitch with woollen threads on woollen foundations. Slight natural oxidation. Beautiful polychromy ples ornaments, flowers, diamonds, insects, fowls, arrows, stars of the Medes and swastikas, hosts three rhombic marine medallions decorated with crosses, stylized plants and central octagonal brick hearts, highlighted ivory decorated with entomological forms and crosses decorated with marine flowers. They are interspersed with octagonal chestnut medallions with a stylised floral 'S' composition and crocheted obelisks with Kotchaks decoration. Two anthracite floral counterborders frame the main ivory boxed border decorated with small crenellated medallions with cruciform hearts. Hound border. Fairly good condition. Dimensions: 358 x 190cm
