Bathed since childhood in an environment of artists (his father frequented Fernand Léger, Georges Rouault and Jean Bazaine), and encouraged by Jean Dubuffet with whom he became friends in the 1970s, the architect Patrice Novarina also became a painter and sculptor. Fascinated by everyday objects, he erects his sculptures in the manner of totems or fetishes, with incongruous objects, fortuitous remains found here and there and which, assembled in the manner of collages, take on a new meaning. Other more monumental works are at the crossroads of architecture and sculpture. He calls the latter "archisculptures". Patrice Novarina has had the opportunity to exhibit his paintings, drawings and sculptures on several occasions in France and Portugal. Among his architectural achievements: the Palais de justice in Annecy (1978), the Maurice Schumann media library in Nogent-sur-Oise, the Aircraft Engine Repair Centre in the Yvelines (1992), the Municipal Technical Centre in Issy-les-Moulineaux (1998), housing in Montmorency (2010), the Leo Delibes housing, the Toits de Boulogne, housing (2008-2013). Patrice Novarina is a member of the Academy of Architecture and Chevalier des Arts et Lettres.
