Umberto Napolitano studied architecture at the Federico II University of Naples and at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Architecture de Paris-La Villette. In 2002, he founded the architecture agency LAN (Local Architecture Network) with Benoit Jallon. In parallel to his practice, he carries out theoretical research, designs exhibitions and gives numerous conferences throughout the world. Umberto Napolitano has been a professor at Columbia University GSAPP in New York (USA) and currently teaches at the AA (Architecture Association) School of Architecture in London (UK). He has been a member of the French Academy of Architecture since 2016 and a Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres since 2018.
