Nicolas Borel was born in 1963. He is a former student of the Louis Lumière National School. He worked as an assistant to fashion photographer David Seidner from 1986 to 1990. Freelance photographer since 1984, he works mainly in the field of architecture, urbanism and urban landscape. He collaborates with the architectural firms of : Christian de Portzamparc, Francis Soler, Christian Hauvette, Henri Gaudin, Roland Simounet, Jakob - MacFarlane, Frédéric Borel, François Chochon... He photographs major building sites: the renovation of the Georges Pompidou Museum, the construction of the Quai Branly - Jacques Chirac Museum, the Louis Vuitton Foundation, the Philharmonie de Paris, the Cité de la Mode et du Design, the Frac d'Orléans... He also reports on heritage: the Museum of African and Oceanic Arts, the city of Versailles, the Palace of Justice on the Ile de la Cité.
