Louis Stanislas LENOIR- RAVRIO (1783-1846) Rare bronze canopic case with medal patina, decorated with hieroglyphs and Egyptian motifs in gilt bronze. Resting on a square black marble base. Bears a label " L.RAVRIO, rue des Filles St Thomas in Paris) Height: 42 cm First half of the 19th century RAVRIO family: RAVRIO, Antoine-André (1759-1814), started in his father's workshop, of Italian origin, then created his own workshop in Paris under the sign of the Golden Lion. He decorated many pieces of furniture with bronzes and created all sorts of objects: clocks, light arms, girandoles, chenets, porcelain frames, furniture bronzes, which gave Ravrio a reputation, many orders and a distinction at the exhibition of Industrial Products in 1806. His adopted son Louis Stanislas Lenoir (1783-1846) continued his father's work from 1814 and signed his name L. Ravrio under the simple initial L. Ravrio.
