Rare LIBRARY and COMMODITY SCRIBBON in solid mahogany, with an animated and curved shape, 4 drawers on three rows and the sloping flap surmounted by two glazed and curved leaves, like the cornice. Lock entries with acanthus leaves decoration, drooping handles. In the upper part opens a flap revealing niches, drawers and a central compartment with a curved leaf. Bordeaux, second half of the 18th century. A similar model is reproduced in Marie-France Lacoue-Labarthe's book "Meubles bordelais, meubles de port", Société archéologique de Bordeaux, collection "Pages d'Archéologie et d'histoire Girondines", 1996, p. 41. - A similar piece is kept at the Musée des Arts décoratifs de Bordeaux (inv. 81.3.6), is reproduced in "Mobilier bordelais et parisien" by Jacqueline du Pasquier, RMN, 1997, p. 130, no. 92a.
