Rozier, a French botanist and agronomist, became professor of botany at a veterinary school in Lyon, founded by Bourgelat, and set up a major botanical garden there. During 10 years in Paris he was owner of the scientific periodical "Observations sur la Physique, l'Histoire naturelle et sur les Arts et Métiers". In 1786 Rozier became Director of Lyon's agriculture school. The first 10 vol. by F. Rozier (1734-1793) were posthumously published. Complemented by 2 vol. on the discoveries and progress of the next 20 years. The consistency of the dates of publishing and those of the plates often differs from copy to copy.
