Cuts painted to match the wrought-iron guard paper. Exlibris and private library label glued on the back side. ORIGINAL EDITION. The best and most beautiful type specimen book of all time. Bodoni used 97 different typefaces, some from rare countries, to print the most common prayer among Christians, the Lord's Prayer. Produced at the expense of Prince Eugene de Beauharnais, Viceroy of Italy. After the dedication to this prince, follows Bodoni's preface to the reader, in French, Italian and Latin. The exotic alphabets are 97 and the others are printed in Latin characters, 23 of them in italics and the others in different sizes. A superb example. Essential in a library with a high bibliophilia.
