Beautiful woodcut on the cover, remargined and with a small loss restored at the foot of the print. Woodcut capitals. Latin text in two columns, marginal apostilles. Wide margins. Modern parchment, chamois leather closures, and labeled hillock. Washed copy, old humidity fence in the lower margin, last hour with a fence in the footnote, although legible. Ancient handwritten notes. Capital work of Juan Luis Vives, object of the inquisitorial rages for the author's ideas, his recognition of Erasmus and above all, for the author's dedication to King Henry VIII of England, even more for the letter that King Tudor sent in gratitude. It is worth mentioning that the edition we present here is printed by the first woman printer known to have worked in the field, Charlotte Guillard. In this copy appear both the dedication and the royal answer in perfect condition, something very remarkable because in most of the copies preserved are inked, if not torn out. CCPB 150262-X.
