1530. BOOK: (GOTHIC-MORAL). GREGORII, SANCTI: LIBER MORALIU[M] IN BEATUS JOB: SINGULARI SAGACITATE/ CONSUMATAQ[UE] OPERA PER CAPITULA DISTINCTUS. Lugduni [Lyon]: Antonii du Ry, 1530 (in colophon). 8th minor. Text in Gothic script, two columns, marginal apostles. Woodcut capitals. 28 h. (including cover) + ccclxvii fol. (cccxlvi missing) + 20 h. and 1 bl. Enc. on recent parchment. Cover in woodcut edge and in two inks (laminated and with small reconstruction). The first leaves with small marginal reconstruction. A little bit short on the top margin. This is one of the oldest and most difficult biblical texts to understand because of its high allegorical and philosophical content. Pope Gregory intends to shed light on this text, although on many occasions scholars point out that the commentaries of the scholar sometimes do not shed the light they intended. Nice edition.
