Printer's mark engraved on wood at the end. 290 fol., 8 unnumbered preliminaries, and 282 numbered in Roman numerals. Ornamented woodcut capital letters. At the end, the printer's woodcut mark. Illustrated with a Lullian figure and full-page representation of the 'World'. Wide margins. Annotations and some underlining of the period (16th century), very light restorations in the margin of some pages. Enclosure signed BRUGALLA, in brown marocco, with a grid of dry irons on the planes, nerves, golden fillet on the edges and eyebrows, golden cuts on the sheets. Original edition of extraordinary rarity. Jaume Janer (Cabra del Camp, 15th century - Valencia, 16th century). Monk of Santes Creus and Lulista. Between 1489-91 he lived in Barcelona, where he left traces of his Lullian activity, (several works published). He reappears in Valencia, after a period of fifteen years, in contact with the compact Lullian nucleus gathered thanks to the fervent enthusiasm of Alfonso de Proaza. This edition that we present, represents the appearance of Valencia in the history of Lullianism, it is at the same time, the confluence of the two strongest Lullian schools in Spain, that of Barcelona, represented by Janer, and that of Valencia, at the head of which Proaza is to be placed. The work, which was printed thanks to the munificence of Bartolomé Gentil, a merchant from Genoa, was the most important work of the monk from Santes Creus, the 'Ars methaphysicalis', finished in February 1506.
