1492. BOOK: (INCUNABULUM). IUUENALIS, DECIMUS JUNIUS: JUVENALIS CUM DUOBUS COMMENTARII VIDELICET DOMITII CALDERINI. & GEORGII VALLAE. [Venice:] Bonetus Locatellum, 1492. In colophon Per Bonetum Locatellum Octavo Idus Martii MCCCCXCII . 4th major. 102 unnumbered pages, symbols AA-MM (8), NN(6). Roman (and Greek in some lines of each satire) typography, woodcut capital letters. Anagram of the printer (Octavianus Scotus) woodcut on the last page. Light and faint shadows of ancient humidity, but a good copy. The first page containing the title is written entirely in 17th century calligraphy by a student (from Almeria) who declares that he owes the cost of his studies and states that he is leaving for Granada to continue them. Modern binding (beginning of the 20th century) in full leather with decoration of interlaced wheels and gold dots frame the plans. Old and appreciated incunabulum edition of the sixteen Satires of Juvenal, with the comments of Domitilio Calderini and Lorenzo Valla. Goff J658. HC 9705.
