Medal awarded to Josias Belle according to Jean Babelon for his powerful and expressive style. Very rare. A copy (perforated, TTB) at Jean Elsen, sale 90, n° 2028 made 1100 euros + expenses. The copy from the sale SVV Delvaux, expert Alain Weil, 2 December 2010, realized 1000 euros + expenses (with bélière). Minimal traces in the fields for this superb specimen with a nice brown patina, still with its original belly ring. Charles de L'Aubépine (1580-1653), Marquis of Châteauneuf-sur-Cher, was an ambassador, Chancellor of the King's Orders, then Keeper of the Seals from 1630 to 1633 and from 1650 to 1651.
