Architect and engineer 115 - The in various styles The series published in various editions by Kupfer v. Cuvilliès the Elder were newly published and supplemented by his son after his death in 1768 and extended by foreign ingredients. This also explains the changing size of the already rare collections. "Almost the entire circle of Munich-based artists was drawn to this enterprise, which contains both architectural and pictorial sheets. Under the title: Ecôle de l'Architecture Bavaroise (1770 following) it was to become a comprehensive 'Vitruve Bavarois' with examples of the individual styles" (NDB). - The copper plates show architectural plans and components (including Munich monuments), perspective architectural pictures, column orders, bridges, fountains, monuments, gardens, windows, stoves, etc. - Few plates slightly fl. or slightly browned, plates from old hand through and through. Mostly fine and clear impressions on strong paper. - Unusually rich collection of ornament and architecture engravings that Cuvilliès made as Munich court architect. A significant rococo document, very hard to find in complete condition. With 205 coppers after F. de Cuvilliès the Elder. Contemporary calf binding (scraped and bumped, joints brittle). Few plates with minor staining or slight discoloration, plates numbered in former times. Mostly fine and clear impressions on strong paper. - R
