Masks with a cordial face. Under the semi-circular eyebrow arch are the small pierced rectangular eyes, separated by the long nose. Residue of white pigment on the face, median scarification on the forehead. They have retained their long, dense beard made of luzelu plant fibres.
The idumu masks are part of the Bwami initiatory society, which regulates the political, legal and moral life of the Lega. They are linked to the ancestors of the lineage protecting the new initiates.
Objects made specifically for the colonial trade with an obvious decorative interest.
