Female figure kneeling on a circular base, carrying an offering cup for the deity Orisha. The features are classic: bulging eyes, flat nostrils, thick lips, triple scarifications on the cheeks. The kneeling posture is called ikunle and marks respect. These statues carrying an offering cup were used during the Ifa divinatory rituals.
Object made specifically for colonial trade with obvious decorative interest.
