LIMESTONE FRAGMENTARY FEMALE HEAD
Egypt, New Kingdom, early 19th dynasty
Round-faced head, almond-shaped eyes underlined with a line of kohol, straight nose and full, smiling lips. She wears a heavy braided wig decorated with a floral headband, with a few strands of wavy hair surrounding the face.
The neck is marked by two incisions with folds.
Lacks and traces of polychromy.

An Egyptian fragmentary limestone head of a woman, New Kingdom, Early 19th Dynasty.
This work is reminiscent of 19th dynasty memphite tomb statues by its workmanship and treatment of the hair.
