BRONZE DEER BELT PLAQUE Caucasian art, 1st-2nd century Openwork quadrangular plate decorated with a deer passing to the right, its head turned upside down, its antlers occupying a large part of the space. Braided design on the edge and punctuated with cups at the corners. Green patina. Size: 9.3 cm x 8.3 cm Provenance: Former collection of Colonel Norman Colville (1893-1974), Great Britain.
