Probably depiction of Mary with Joan of Arc as the victors of evil in the shape of a dragon, slightly pasty painting, oil over pencil on cardboard, stamped on the reverse "Hermann Dieckmann Goslar - Mal- und Zeichenbedarf für Kunst und Technik" and "Zet Nr. 135 L Günther Wagner" together with various annotations such as "Erich Dieckmann 1921", cracks in the paint, minor defects in preservation, unframed, dimensions approx. 46 x 38 cm. Artist info: engl. Carpenter, university lecturer and furniture designer (1896 Kauernik/West Prussia until 1944 Berlin), 1918-20 study of architecture at the technical college in Danzig, from 1921 study at the Bauhaus in Weimar and here from 1921-24 carpenter apprenticeship, after the departure of Marcel Breuer, Dieckmann became temporary head of the furniture workshop at the Bauhaus, 1925-30 head of the carpentry workshop at the Bauhochschule Weimar, 1931-33 head of the carpentry workshop at the Kunstgewerbeschule Burg Giebichenstein, resident in Berlin from 1939, source Wikipedia and Internet.
