The enamels worn on the castelaine that we present are to be compared with those made by Charles Riffault, a famous enameller who worked for Boucheron in the years 1870-1880. His style was characterized by the use of radiating motifs from a centre, in red, green and blue colours. The Belle Epoque of French jewellery 1850-1910, London, 1990, p. 134.
