Biography:
Marie Leszczynska (Trzebnica, June 23, 1703 - Versailles, June 24, 1768) is the second
daughter of Catherine Opalinska and Stanislas I Leszczynski, King of Poland between 1704 and 1704.
and 1709. She was queen of France by her marriage to Louis XV in 1725 and by her
son of the dolphin Louis, who married Maria Josephosa of Saxony, she is the grandmother of the
the last three kings of Fran ce, Louis XVI, Louis XVIII and Charles X. Left out
of cases and little considered by the Court, she devoted herself to her convent, founded to
Versailles for the education of poor girls, today the Hoche high school. She
ensured the moral and religious education of the dolphin his son who died three years before
her in 1765. Gradually abandoned by the king, even though he kept for her a profound
affection, she devoted herself to devotion and took under her protection a very great number of
charitable works, contributing in particular to the spread of the cult of the Sacred Heart.
