"Dear Reine Cimière, I send you back the "paper" on manuscript. St Tropez lacks a typist. Let me know if you're happy. The weather is fine. And how refreshing in this hot weather! Will you send me a typewritten copy with my manuscript, before the printed proof? Thank you. Thank you. I don't have a duplicate or a draft. »
The manuscript begins like this: "She's not from here, but she's said to be from Paris, on the Paris land to a native of the marsh. She knows, for example, that the angler is the least Parisian in the city, that he stubbornly turns his back on his city and is content with images that have fallen into the water, the reflection of a church crossed by the momentum of the gudgeon and the shadow of the swift bream, the clear belly of the plane that takes aim when crossing the river...".
The typing of the text and comments (12 pages in-4°) is attached.
This is the book "Paris", illustrated with 22 lithographs by Reine Cimière, with texts by Colette. Published by the Club de France, Paris, 1938.
